Meredith Carr

Meredith Carr is a Hydrologist in the Fire and External Hazards Branch, Division of Risk Analysis, Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research within the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Dr. Carr is a member of the Probabilistic Flood Hazard Assessment Research Program team, with expertise in riverine flooding and mitigation.  Previously, she worked as a Research Hydraulic Engineer at the US Army Corps Cold Regions Research Laboratory focusing on flood control and navigation in ice-covered rivers.  She also briefly worked as an Inspector and Case Manager in the EPA’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, focused on storm water management.

Dr. Carr holds a Bachelors of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the Cooper Union in New York City (2000) and a Master’s of Science and Doctorate in Civil Engineering, specializing in Environmental Hydraulic and Hydrologic Engineering from the University of Illinois (2002 and 2007).  She is licensed as a Professional Engineer.
