Néstor Masriera

Néstor Masriera was appointed as President of the Board of Directors of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ARN) by the President of Argentina in January 2016. In this capacity, he is Alternate Governor for Argentina to the IAEA’s Board of Governors and member of the Commission of the Brazilian-Argentine Agency for Accounting and Control of Nuclear Materials (ABACC).

President Masriera has accumulated over 30 years of experience in the nuclear field and specializes in nuclear reactors. In his former position at INVAP he was the Head of the Regulatory Technical Assistance Department, and he previously played a key role in various projects of the company including the OPAL reactor and the CAREM25 SMR. President Masriera served at ENACE (predecessor of Nucleoeléctrica Argentina), and represented Argentina as expert in IAEA’s high level advisory group INDAG between 1997 and 2007.

Néstor Masriera holds a Nuclear Engineer degree from the Balseiro Institute where he also undertook teaching activities.
