Jan Mazza

As Project Manager in the Division of Engineering, Infrastructure and Advanced Reactors in the NRCs Office of New Reactors, Jan Mazza has the primary responsibility for the coordination of advanced non-Light Water Reactor activities.  In particular she is the lead project manager for the Non-Light Water Reactor design criteria initiative.

Since joining the NRC in 2007, Ms. Mazza has worked on several new reactor licensing projects. Additionally, Ms. Mazza served as the business process liaison for new reactor electronic systems including the electronic request for information system and the enterprise project management system.

Prior to joining the NRC, Ms. Mazza worked for 20 years Baltimore Gas and Electric.  She worked in positions of increasing responsibility including lead engineer responsible for power plant modification projects, general supervisor of maintenance and modifications crews, technical assistant to Vice President for Operations, and project manager for generating assets.

Ms. Mazza received a BS degree in civil engineering from University of Maryland in 1981 and has been a registered professional engineer in the state of Maryland since 1987.
