Amy Cubbage

Ms. Cubbage joined the NRC in 1989 in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) and served as a Reactor Systems Engineer in the Reactor Systems Branch in NRR and Project Manager for the Pebble Bed Modular Reactor and other new reactor projects 1n NRR. She transferred to the Office of New Reactor (NRO) when the Office was formed in 2006. She held increasingly responsible positions in (NRO) including Lead Project Manager for the ESBWR Design Certification and Team Leader for BWR projects in the Division of New Reactor Licensing. In 2011, Ms. Cubbage was selected to serve as a Senior Staff Member in the NRC's Fukushima Near-Term Task Force. Also in 2011, she was selected as the Chief of the Policy and Rulemaking Branch, Division of Advanced Reactors and Rulemaking. NRO. In 2013, Ms. Cubbage was selected to serve as the Reactor Policy Advisor for Commissioner Ostendorff. She held this position until 2016 when she returned to NRO as a Senior Project Manager for Advanced reactors. She was recently elected chair of the Joint CNRA/CSNI Ad-hoc Group on the Safety of Advanced Reactors. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
