Meena K. Khanna

Ms. Khanna is the Chief of the Rulemaking Branch in the Division of Policy and Rulemaking (DPR) in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) and has been in this position since June 2016.  Prior to this, she held the position of Chief of the Plant Licensing IV-2 and Decommissioning Transition Branch in the Division of Operating Reactor Licensing.  Ms. Khanna previously served as the Chief of the Plant Licensing Branch I-2, Acting Deputy Director in DPR for the Research and Test Reactors, and as the Acting Deputy Assistant for Operations in the Office of Executive Director for Operations.  Prior to this, she served as the Chief of the Mechanical and Civil Engineering Branch in the Division of Engineering in NRR.  Ms. Khanna began her U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) career in 1992 as a Nuclear Safety Intern in Region III and has held a number of progressively more responsible positions within the agency.  Ms. Khanna earned a B.S. degree in Materials/Metallurgical Engineering from Purdue University and is a 2009 graduate of the agency’s Leadership Potential Program.
