Karen Kim is a Senior Technical Leader al the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Ms. Kim manages projects related to Radiation Safety within the Nuclear Sector with a focus on Radiological Environmental Protection and Low Level Waste Management. These projects are related to groundwater protection, nuclear power plant effluents, liquid radioactive waste process, solid radioactive waste management, and the overall impact of nuclear power plant operations on the public and environment. Over her years at EPRI Ms. Kim has also managed various research projects related to Nuclear Power Plant Decommissioning, Water Chemistry, and Radiation Management.
Ms. Kim holds Bachelors of Science degrees in Nuclear Engineering and Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley (2006) and a Masters of Radiation Health Physics degree from Oregon State University (2013). Ms. Kim received her health physicist certification (CHP) from the American Board of Health Physics in 2016. Ms. Kim joined EPRI in 2005.
