Jack D. Parrott

Jack D. Parrott is a Senior Project Manager in the Reactor Decommissioning Branch, Division of Decommissioning, Uranium Recovery, and Waste Programs, Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS) within the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).  He has worked at the NRC for 27 years, primarily in NMSS.  His principal responsibility is to manage the regulatory and technical aspects of decommissioning projects for NRC-licensed facilities.  His work focuses on review and analysis of licensing documents, processing licensing requests, coordinating technical reviews, and interacting with licensees and other interested stakeholders.  Previously with NRC he has worked as a hydrogeologist, project scientist, and project manager on decommissioning sites; as an on-site licensing representative for the Yucca Mountain Project; and as a spent fuel storage and transportation inspector.  He is currently the NMSS senior project manager for the decommissioning of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station and the shutdown reactors at the GE Vallecitos Nuclear Center.
