Louise Lund

Since May 2016, Louise Lund has served as the Director, Division of Policy and Rulemaking, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR).  Ms. Lund joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 1996 as a materials engineer in the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (RES).  In 1999, she served in a newly created public communication advisor position in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations.  Starting in 2000, she held a number of progressively responsible positions in NRR including Section Chief, Steam Generator Integrity and Chemical Engineering Section, and Chief, Projects Branch, Division of License Renewal.  From 2008 to 2011, she served in a number of acting deputy division director assignments in Region I, the Office of Information Services, and divisions within NRR.  In April 2011, she was selected as Chief, Electrical Engineering Branch, Division of Engineering, NRR.  Also in 2011, she was selected for the Senior Executive Service (SES) position of Deputy Director, Division of Operating Reactor Licensing, NRR.  Beginning in October 2015, she served as Deputy Director, Division of Risk Analysis, RES.  Ms. Lund received a bachelor’s of science degree and a master’s of science degree in materials science and engineering from Washington State University.  She is a graduate of the NRC's SES Candidate Development Program and Leadership Potential Program.
