Gregory Bowman

Mr. Gregory Bowman is the acting Deputy Director for NRR’s Division of Policy and Rulemaking.  Mr. Bowman began his NRC career in 2002 as a reactor inspector in Region I, and has held a number of progressively more responsible positions within the agency, including resident inspector, reactor systems engineer, senior enforcement specialist, executive technical assistant in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations, and Branch Chief of the Research and Test Reactors Oversight Branch in NRR’s Division of Policy and Rulemaking.  Most recently, Mr. Bowman held a number of management positions in NRR’s Japan Lessons-Learned Division, including Branch Chief for the Policy and Support and Hazards Management Branches, as well as acting as Deputy Director.  Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Bowman worked as a shift training supervisor for the Navy’s nuclear power training program in Charleston, SC.  Mr. Bowman earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
