Pierre-Franck Chevet

Pierre-Franck Chevet is the President of the French Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN). He was appointed in November 2012 for a 6-year term.

Mr. Chevet is a graduate from the Ecole Polytechnique and the French National Economics and Statistics School (ENSAE).

He worked for the French nuclear regulatory body from 1986 to 1995 with a focus on nuclear construction and NPP safety (including a tenure as deputy director in charge of NPP safety). He then occupied several industrial civil service positions in regional offices in north-eastern and northern France. From 2005 to 2007, he was an advisor to the office of the Prime Minister. In subsequently became Director General for Energy, within the Ministry in charge of Industry (then the Ministry incharge of Ecology from 2008 to 2012).
