Kristina L. Banovac

Kristina Banovac is a Project Manager in the Renewals & Materials Branch, Division of Spent Fuel Management (DSFM), at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). In this role, Ms. Banovac is working on developing guidance for spent fuel storage renewals. She is currently working on a revision to NUREG-1927, “Standard Review Plan for Renewal of Specific Licenses and Certificates of Compliance for Dry Storage of Spent Nuclear Fuel.” Prior to her current assignment, she worked in the Licensing Branch of DSFM, coordinating the safety and environmental reviews related to licensing of spent fuel storage facilities and certification of spent fuel storage system designs. She also worked in the Division of Waste Management and Environmental Protection at the NRC, where she reviewed technical and policy issues related to waste management and decommissioning of power reactor, research and test reactor, and materials sites. Ms. Banovac holds a Bachelor of Science in Geo-Environmental Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
