Jason Carneal

Jason Carneal is a project manager in the Rulemaking Branch, Division of Policy and Rulemaking, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. Jason currently serves as the project manager for the power reactor decommissioning rulemaking.  Prior to this position, Jason was a mechanical engineer in the Division of Engineering, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, working as a technical expert on the inservice inspection of pumps and valves. Jason joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 2008 as a project manager in the Office of New Reactors. Jason also worked for six years at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division as a Mechanical Engineer and Naval Architect, and performed research, development, testing, and evaluation on submarine and surface ship systems.

Jason earned a bachelor of science degree and a master of science in engineering mechanics from Virginia Tech.
