Sally Billings

Sally Billings has 35 years of nuclear-related experience.  Ms. Billings joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 2002 and is an Emergency Response Coordinator in the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response.  Sally is the NRC’s Exercise Director for Southern Exposure 2015, a fully integrated, whole community emergency exercise involving a simulated catastrophic radiological event at the H. B. Robinson Nuclear Plant in South Carolina. Prior to joining the NRC, Ms. Billings worked in the area of Regulatory Affairs and Emergency Preparedness at an NRC-licensed nuclear power facility.  Ms. Billings also was the Assistant Director of Emergency Preparedness for Oconee County, South Carolina.  Oconee County is the home of Duke Energy’s Oconee Nuclear Station.  As a county official, Ms. Billings worked closely with the facility to ensure the county response organizations were adequately prepared to implement the emergency response requirements for offsite agencies.
