Tomy Nazario

Mr. Nazario presently serves as the Senior Resident Inspector for V.C. Summer Units 2 and 3 overseeing the construction of two AP1000 units near Columbia, South Carolina.  He also served as the Senior Resident Inspector at Watts Bar Unit 2 providing regulatory oversight during the design, construction, and testing of the unit.  In 2010, Mr. Nazario was recognized with the NRC Meritorious Service Award for his contributions and leadership in support of the NRC's mission during the completion of Watts Bar Unit 2.  While in Region II, Mr. Nazario was a qualified reactor inspector performing in-service and license renewal inspections. He also served as the project engineer for the TVA sites and the oversight of the recovery/restart of the Browns Ferry Unit 1 Nuclear Plant.

Prior to joining NRC's Region II Atlanta office, Mr. Nazario served in the office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) in Rockville, Maryland as a project manager and performed reviews of safety evaluations, license renewals, and license amendments. He also he worked in the office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR) developing the Physical Protection Significance Determination Process (PPSDP).  During his time in NRC headquarters he conducted rotational assignments in the Office of International Programs (OIP) and as a resident inspector at the Indian Point Nuclear Plant in Region I.  Mr. Nazario received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico.
