Thomas Zachariah

Thomas Zachariah is a Project Manager for Risk Assessment at the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) responsible for improving plant safety and operations through risk-informed applications such as 10 CFR 50.69, Risk Informed Categorization and Treatment. In addition to this work, he is leading multiple Fukushima related activities such as the maximizing the benefits FLEX equipment in plant operations and the completion of external flooding assessments. Prior to joining NEI in 2015, Mr. Zachariah was a Program Director for the PWR Owners Group leading their risk program as well as their entire international program. He started with Westinghouse as a risk assessment engineer focused on building internal flooding, fire, and seismic PRA models for Combustion Engineering plants. He graduated the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science and Engineering (BSE) in Mechanical Engineering.
