Michael D. Tschlitz

Mr. Tschiltz graduated from the University of Michigan School of Engineering, was Commissioned and served as an Officer in the Naval Nuclear program on board submarines.  After completing his Navy service he served as a Chief Test Engineer for submarine overhauls at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 9 years.  He joined the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 1991 and over the course of his career held various management positions in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations, the Office of the Chairman, the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and the Office of Nuclear Materials Safety and Safeguards.   After retiring from the NRC in 2011, Mr. Tschiltz joined Mitsubishi Nuclear Energy Systems and served as a Deputy General Manager for Licensing on the US-Advanced Pressurized Water Reactor Design Certification.  In 2014, Mr. Tschiltz joined the Nuclear Energy Institute as the Director of Risk Assessment.
