1987-1989: Graduate of Institute of Nuclear & New Energy Technology, Tsinghua University, Majoring in Thermal Engineering and Safety of Nuclear Reactor

1989--2010: Beijing Nuclear Safety Center, now referred to as Nuclear Radiation Safety Center (NSC), National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA). Working successively as Deputy Head of Reactor System Office, Head of Reactor System and Safety Analysis Office, Deputy Head and Chief Engineer of Nuclear Safety Center.

2010-Present: Deputy Director General, Department II of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Regulation, NNSA

During his past work, Mr. Tangbo participated in and organized the safety review and inspection on commissioning for several nuclear power plants, including Qingshan-1, Daya Bay, Lingao, Tianwan, Qingshan-11 NPPs and Shi Daowan High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor (J ITGR). He was also responsible for the review and oversight of engineering- safety facilities, auxiliary system, ventilation system, fire system, commissioning program and technical specification of nuclear power plants. As Deputy Director General, Department II of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Regulation, NNSA, he is currently in charge of safety regulation of operating nuclear power plants and reactors.
