Randall K. Edington

Randy Edington is Executive Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer for Arizona Public Service Company (APS). Based in Phoenix, Arizona; APS serves more than 1.1 million customers and is one of the fastest-growing investor-owned electric utilities in the United States.

Edington is responsible for all nuclear-related activities associated with the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, the nation’s largest power producer.

Prior to joining APS in 2007, Edington served as Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer for Nebraska Public Power District and Vice President for Entergy Corporation. Edington has been Vice President Corporate Support for Entergy North, Site Vice President Operations at River Bend Station in Louisiana, Site General Plant Manager at Arkansas Nuclear One and other leadership positions within Entergy Corporation. Edington began his nuclear career in the United States Navy Nuclear Submarine Program.

Edington is Chairman of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations Executive Advisory Group (which includes all U.S. CNO’s) and the Chairman of the Nuclear Energy Institute Workforce Working Group. He is a member of the Pressurized Water Reactors Owners Group’s Executive Management Group (EMG) since 2008 and was the CEO and Executive Chair from 2012 to 2014. Edington is Chairman of the Board of the Strategic Teaming and Resource Sharing (STARS) Nuclear Alliance and a member of the industries Fukushima Steering Committee.ton held Reactor Operator and Senior Reactor Operator licenses.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Science from Arkansas Tech University and a Master’s degree in Operational Management from the University of Arkansas.
