Matthew Gordon

Matthew Gordon earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering and his Lean-Six Sigma Black Belt certification from Virginia Tech.  He conducted research at the University of Illinois on alkali-activated cements for three years prior to joining the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).  He has been with the NRC for seven years, primarily as a Materials Engineer in Spent Fuel Management (SFM).  During his time at the Agency he has also worked in the Office of Research performing probabilistic risk assessments and the Office of the Executive Director of Operations, streamlining the Agency’s Reactor Oversight Process feedback program.  He continues to serve the agency in the Office of Research’s Division of Engineering.
