Toyoshi Fuketa

Dr. Toyoshi Fuketa started his career  as a research engineer  at the  Japan  Atomic Energy  Research Institute (JAERI) in 1987 after he obtained his Ph. D in mechanical engineering science from  Tokyo  Institute of Technology. He engaged in extensive nuclear  safety  research programs and, in particular, performed various  experiments regarding reactor fuel behavior under  reactivity-initiated accident, loss-of-coolant accident and severe  accident conditions.   Before joining the  NRA, he was in charge of management of regulatory research programs regarding thermal hydraulics, plant aging, and fuel safety as a Deputy Director General  of Nuclear Safety Research Center at the  Japan  Atomic Energy  Agency  (JAEA).
