Keith Leonard

Dr. Keith Leonard is a Senior Research Staff member in the Materials Science and Technology Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He joined ORNL as a staff member in 2004. Dr. Leonard is a Principle Investigator on multiple research programs for commercial and naval reactor programs for fuel cladding and internal components, as well as diagnostic materials development for the Fusion Materials Program. His research activities have involved radiation effects on refractory metal alloys, super-alloys, ceramics, polymeric materials and thin film devices.

Dr. Leonard received his PhD in Materials Science from the University of Cincinnati, MS in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and BS in Aerospace Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He currently is the leader of the Radiation Effects and Microstructural Analysis group, which also oversees operations at ORNL’s Low Activation Materials Development and Analysis Laboratory.
