Jeffrey R. Williams

Jeff Williams is the Project Director for the Nuclear Fuels Storage and Transportation Planning Project with the Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy.  In this role he has the responsibility for directing the Department’s activities related to planning for shipment of used fuel to a consolidated storage facility.  Jeff has over 30 years of experience working on the management and disposition of high-level waste and spent fuel with DOE, mostly with the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management where he has worked in several different management positions.  These include serving as the manager of the Licensing Support Office that led interactions with NRC on the Yucca Mountain License Application, managing the design and siting of the Monitored Retrievable Storage facility, development of the multi-purpose canister system, International relations, and development of the Total System Life Cycle Cost and Fee Adequacy reports.
