Mark David Rauckhorst

Mark Rauckhorst serves as Vice President Construction.  In this role he is the lead executive for Southern Nuclear at the Vogtle 3 and 4 Site and is the principal interface with the Shaw and Westinghouse Site Directors. 

Mr. Rauchhorst joined the Southern Company with more than 30 years of experience working for architect, engineering, construction management and utility organizations on large scale capital construction projects.  He has provided technical support and presented findings in formal proceedings to support contractors and project owners in mediation and negotiations.  He has advised clients and led the implementation of Project Management Organizations focused in the environmental, industrial, energy and utilities sectors.  These programs included the design and implementation of fully integrated project and program controls systems.  He has an advanced knowledge of many project control software packages and is a specialist at applying the critical path method and earned value techniques.  He is experienced at developing and applying various forms of project analysis and assessment to provide senior management with independent reviews of capital program implementation and status.

Mr. Rauchhorst has a BS in Nuclear Engineering, from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Northern Illinois University.  Prior to joining Southern Nuclear, Mark worked with Sargent & Lundy Engineers, Exelon Corporation and PwC in various engineering, construction and project management positions.  He has led construction programs for a number of utilities and was a consultant to Vogtle 3 and 4 project for three years prior to accepting the Construction Vice President position.
