TH32  New and Expanding Nuclear Energy Programs: Experience Confronting Regulatory Challenges

This session recognizes that countries building new nuclear power plants are often in the position of considering technologies that are not domestic. This situation creates certain unique challenges for a nuclear regulator. Presenters will discuss the challenges involved in preparing for nondomestic reactor designs and how leveraging multilateral and bilateral cooperation has contributed to the ability of their organizations to gain experience and address regulatory challenges.
