Manase Peter Salema

Dr. Manase Peter Salema holds a PhD from the University of Western Australia. He has a wealth of knowledge and international management experience in the application of nuclear technology in various fields, as well as dealing with strategic and policy issues of science and technology for development.

Dr. Salema has been with the IAEA since 1990, serving in various positions including Deputy Director of the Joint FAO/IAEA Division of Nuclear Techniques in Food and Agriculture, Technical Coordinator of the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications, and his appointments as Director since 2002 have covered the regions of Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and now Europe.

Prior to joining the IAEA, Dr. Salema was Professor of Soil Science and Microbiology at the Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania.
