Ron Elsasser

Ron is responsible for Oversight, Assurance, Nuclear Training, Quality, Issues Management, Corrective Actions, Causal Analysis, and Event Investigation for the Advanced Test Reactor Program. He has a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering Technology and a MBA from San Diego State University.

Ron is recognized as a Nuclear Safety Culture Champion and an organizational change agent with a broad spectrum of progressive nuclear experience. He has participated in the successful turnaround of several troubled commercial nuclear facilities. Through this first-hand experience Ron gained valuable insight into organizational behavior and the positive effects, or unintended consequences, of Leadership on Organizational Effectiveness and Nuclear Safety.  Currently Ron is leading an effort to establish an integrated Nuclear Safety Culture Program for the Nuclear Facilities at the Idaho National Laboratory utilizing the concepts contained in NEI 09-07, the new common language, and the 10 Traits of a Healthy Nuclear Safety Culture, along with some tried and true fundamentals that are the lessons learned from a shared nuclear history.
