James Luehman

Jim Luehman is the Deputy Director of the Division of Construction and Operational Programs, within the NRC’s Office of New Reactors. Mr. Luehman joined the NRC in 1983 as a Resident Inspector. After serving as a Resident Inspector at a nuclear power plant in Virginia and Senior Resident Inspector at nuclear power plant in Louisiana, he transferred to NRC Headquarters in 1987 as a Senior Enforcement Specialist in the Office of Enforcement.  From 1993 until 2000 he has served as a Senior Reactor Engineer and Senior Environmental Project Manager in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and as an inspection team leader in the Special Projects Office.  In 2000, Mr. Luehman was selected as the Deputy Director of the Office of Enforcement.  Subsequently, Mr. Luehman served as the Deputy Division Director in the Division of Materials Safety and State Agreements in the Office of Federal and State Materials and Environmental Management Programs prior to assuming his current assignment. Mr. Luehman holds a BS degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and was a NRC Congressional Fellow in 1995-96, serving as a Senior Policy Analyst for energy and the environment on the staff of Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI).
