Richard Libra

Libra is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station, including management and development of personnel, overall station performance and financial plan oversight.   Three Mile Island Generating Station is an 852 megawatt single unit plant that produces enough electricity for more than 800,000 households.

Professional History
Libra has more than 30 years of experience in the U.S. Navy and commercial nuclear power industry.  He served in various management positions for DTE Energy at the Fermi Generating Station in Michigan before joining Exelon Generation in 2007 as Director, Corporate Design Engineering.  Libra served as Plant Manager at Three Mile Island from 2010 to 2012 when he was promoted to his current positions as site vice president.

Libra holds a Masters of Science degree, Engineering Management from Washington State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.  He earned a Senior Reactor Operator Certification and completed a Management Development Certification Program at the Michigan School of Business.

Professional Affiliations
Libra serves on the Lower Dauphin Communities that Care Board of Directors.  From 2006 to 2010, he chaired the Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) Vessel Inspection Program and the BWR Owners group executive committee.
