Larry Burkhart

Mr. Lawrence (Larry) Burkhart joined the NRC in 1998 as an operating reactor licensing project manager in NRR.  Larry most recently served as the Acting Branch Chief for licensing issues associated with the AP1000 standard design-related combined license activities including those associated with the new AP1000 units at the Vogtle and Summer sites.  He also has served as branch chief of the US APWR licensing branch in NRO as well as in several positions as Senior Project Manager for various standard design certifications and combined license application projects.  Larry’s other work experience includes the U.S. Navy, Georgetown University, the U.S. State Department and the OECD’s Nuclear Energy Agency. 

Larry received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science in Engineering Management at the University of Maryland.
