Ann Marie J. Stone

Mrs. Stone is the Chief, Engineering Branch No. 2 in the Division of Reactor Safety, Region III. Mrs. Stone joined NRC in 1987 as a Reactor Inspector in Region III. From 1987 to 1989, Mrs. Stone was a region-based inspector performing inspections in various areas of engineering and quality assurance. From 1989 to 1998, she was a Resident Inspector and later, a Senior Resident Inspector responsible for oversight of daily plant operations at the Zion, Dresden, and Monticello plants. From 1998 to 2001, after certifying as a Boiling Water Reactor and Pressurized Water Examiner, she was a region-based Senior Reactor Inspector/Operations Examiner. In this capacity, she was responsible for developing and reviewing operator licensing examinations and inspecting the requalification programs. From 2001 to present, Mrs. Stone has held two Management Positions in Region III including Chief, Reactor Projects Branch 3 (2001-2004) and Chief, Engineering Branch 2 (2004-present). In her current capacity, Mrs. Stone is responsible for the oversight of the Region III License Renewal inspections as well as other engineering-focused inspections and activities such as the Component Design Bases Inspections. Prior to her appointment to NRC in 1987, Mrs. Stone received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
