Randy Gauntt

Randall Gauntt has a PhD in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University and 28 years experience performing research in the area of LWR severe accident phenomenology ranging from in-pile experimentation of fuel melt progression and fission product release and transport to the system level modeling of severe accident progression in nuclear power plants. His group at Sandia National Laboratories develops the MELCOR and MACCS2 codes for the NRC and supports numerous code application efforts for the NRC's Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, and Office of New Reactors, including the SOARCA project.
