James Maddox

Mr. Maddox spent 35 years with the Tennessee Valley Authority from 1970 until January of 2005. During his time at TVA, Mr. Maddox worked on the design, construction and operation of its Nuclear fleet. He held various positions at all 3 of TVA's operating sites including engineering manager, maintenance and modifications manager, operations support manager and then moved to TVA's corporate office where he was Chief Engineer. At the time of his retirement, Mr. Maddox was the VP of Nuclear Engineering. His duties in that position included overall management of TVA's engineering nuclear engineering organization, nuclear fuels organization, emergency preparedness organization and licensing organization. He is currently the Director, New Plant Deployment and Special Projects at INPO and has been heavily involved in the Fukushima Daiichi response since the event in March.
