James C. Shepherd

Mr. Shepherd is a Project Engineer with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, where he oversees the decommissioning of a wide range of NRC-licensed facilities.  He has a Master Degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Washington.  He is the primary author for the monitoring and sampling portion of NRC's Decommissioning Planning Rule and the associated guidance.  Prior to joining NRC, Mr. Shepherd did extensive work in risk and safety analyses for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities in the US and abroad.
