Claire Cailes

Following a BSc degree in Biology, Claire worked for 2 years at an ecological consultancy focusing on the environmental effects of power stations.  Claire then completed a PhD in Radioecology, studying the effects of radiation on non-human biota. This involved working in the Chernobyl exclusion zone and included sampling the most radioactively contaminated natural lake in the world.  Claire joined the Environment Agency in 2008 working in Radioactive Substance Science before becoming a Nuclear New Build Assessor in 2011.
