William N. Szymanski

William Szymanski has over 20 years of experience in the nuclear fuel cycle.  He currently serves as Director of Uranium Management and Policy within the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy.  The Office of Uranium Management and Policy is responsible for providing leadership in developing and implementing the Department of Energy policy on the front end of the nuclear fuel cycle and rendering expert analysis and advice on uranium markets and sales, asset management, and security of domestic supply of enriched uranium.  In carrying out its responsibilities, the office communicates extensively with other Department of Energy offices and Federal agencies, and with industry and other public stakeholders.  Mr. Szymanski holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in geology from the State University of New York College at Cortland and Eastern Kentucky University, respectively, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee.
