John Jankovich

Dr. Jankovich has been with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for over 28 years. Currently, he is team leader for the sealed source and device registration program. He is also the principal technical contact for the on-going initiatives regarding the security and use of cesium-137 chloride sources. He also serves as the NRC delegate to national and international standards. Previously, he was team leader for conducting safety inspections for transportation packages and spent fuel storage containers. He also served as senior staff for nuclear reactors, leading such projects as the development of the maintenance rule for the power plants. He received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering, and holds several board certifications for NRC safety qualifications.
