Reginald Mitchell

Mr. Mitchell was appointed to his current position of Controller in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) effective February 13, 2011. Prior to his appointment he served as Budget Director, OCFO from September 2008 and Chief of Staff, OCFO from May to September 2008. Prior to his assignments in the OCFO, Mr. Mitchell served in a number of senior staff and management positions in multiple headquarters offices and a regional office where he gained considerable experience in administrative operations in support of the agency mission; including information technology, human resources, budget formulation and execution, performance measurement, strategic planning, and financial and space management. Mr. Mitchell assignments included the Director, Program Management, Policy Development and Analysis Staff (PMDA), in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulations (NRR) from 2006 to 2008, Director, Business Process Improvement and Application Development, Office of Information Services from 2005 to 2006, and Deputy Director PMDA, Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research from 2005 to 2006. Prior to joining the NRC in 1988, Mr. Mitchell served in the United States Navy on nuclear submarines. Mr. Mitchell received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from National-Louis University and is a recipient of the NRC’s Meritorious Service Award.
