Shanlai Lu

Dr. Shanlai Lu is serving as a Senior Reactor Systems Engineer in the NRC Office of New Reactors, Division of Safety Systems & Risk Assessment. Serving in this position since 2007, he has been involved in the U.S. EPR reactor system review effort. Dr. Lu has previously worked on safety analysis code development in the Office of Regulatory Research, performed regulatory review on power uprate submittals in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, and was deeply involved in the GSI-191 PWR sump performance issue resolution. Dr. Lu has worked for NRC since January 2000. Prior to joining NRC, he worked for the nuclear industry and various academic organizations for 13 years. He received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and his M.S. and B.S. from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China.
