Abstract
This report provides a response to the Commission's request for the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) to review the NRC Safety Research Program. The Commission asked the ACRS to examine the need, scope, and balance of the Reactor Safety Research Program, among other things, in the Staff Requirements Memorandum of September 9, 1997. This report provides observations and recommendations on engineering the Safety Research Program, comments on specific research activities, waste management research at the NRC, and the continued need for the Nuclear Safety Research Review Committee (NSRRC) function.Page Last Reviewed/Updated Thursday, March 29, 2012
