Reference: (a) Order for Modification of License Concerning BWR Scram
Discharge Systems dated January 9, 1981

This letter transmits the staff's Generic Safety Evaluation Report (SER)
Supplment 1 dated January 12, 1981 for your information. The supplement
summarizes the results of our re-evaluation of the interim measures
recommended in our SER on December 1, 1980. It provided the basis for
continued operation of those plants with poor scram discharge colume to
instrument volume drainage characteristics while an automatic air dump
system is being installed, as required by reference (a).
