How does NRC enforce its regulatory requirements?
As part of its oversight process, NRC issues sanctions called enforcement actions to licensees who violate our regulations.
What sanctions does NRC use?
These sanctions may include notices of violation, monetary fines, or orders to modify, suspend, or revoke a license, or the sanctions may require specific actions because of a public health issue.
How can I learn more about the Enforcement Program?
For more information about this program, see our Enforcement page. For more information on inspection, performance assessment, investigations, and allegations, see the oversight section of our How We Regulate page.
