T6 New Procedure IP 71111.11, "Licensed Operator Requalification Program and Licensed Operator Performance" — Insights and Lessons Learned: A Panel Discussion

In this session, there will be a panel discussion on the recent implementation of the new procedure IP 71111.11.  The procedure, effective January 2012, provides improvements for enhanced evaluation of licensed operator requalification training programs focusing on material quality and operator performance.  Each NRC and industry representative will provide insights and issues identified during their implementation of the new procedure.  Participants will learn recent issues affecting the licensees’ requalification training program, including findings, violations, and potential areas for enhancements.

Panelists will present changes and enhancements associated with the new procedure, including new additions focusing on exam material quality, operator performance, problem identification and resolution (PI&R) evaluation, new significance determination process (SDP), and additional quarterly observations by the resident inspectors.  Also, the session will include a panel discussion by NRC and industry representatives on insights and lessons learned during the first-year implementation of the new procedure.
