United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission - Protecting People and the Environment

TH26 When Operating Experience Knocks ... Who is Answering? ... Why? ... and How?

This session will engage industry stakeholders in a discussion of best practices in operating experience. Nuclear power plant operators, the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), and the NRC all have Operating Experience programs. The history of the nuclear industry has shown us how important the application of operating experience is to ensuring the safe operation of nuclear power plants. At the same time, the NRC realizes that continuous improvement and openness to the suggestions of its stakeholders are pivotal to ensuring operating experience is used in the most effective way. This session will allow the audience to engage in a frank discussion about operating experience best practices.
