W23 Are You Prepared for a Hostile Action-Based Exercise?

This session will discuss the various aspects related to conducting a hostile action-based scenario as part of a biennial emergency preparedness exercise. Panelists will provide perspectives on the challenges faced in the revision of licensee and offsite radiological emergency plans to incorporate hostile action elements as required under the new Emergency Preparedness rule, including aspects specifically related to incident command concepts, and developing hostile action-based exercise scenarios. NRC and FEMA panelists will provide insights on the review of revision to radiological emergency plans and exercise scenarios incorporating hostile action-based elements and criteria for the evaluation of licensee and offsite response organization activities.
