W16 Risk Applications: Emerging Challenges and Opportunities

The increased use of risk in rulemaking, licensing, and oversight to enhance the safety of nuclear power reactors continues to be a topic of high Commission interest. In this session, presenters from the NRC staff (NRO, NRR, RES) and industry will provide an overview of current and possible future challenges and opportunities associated with the implementation of risk-informed regulation in the areas of research, licensing, and operations for operating and new power reactors.
