W18 Regulatory Actions on Extended Station Blackout Events

The NRC will convey the progress made and direction being taken to implement orders and potential rulemaking associated with Near-Term Task Force Recommendations 4.1 and 4.2. Specifically, the discussion about Recommendation 4.1 will focus on the regulatory status of a potential rulemaking on station blackout. The discussion about Recommendation 4.2 will focus on impending orders on the protection and use of equipment installed in response to the requirement in 10 CFR 50.54(hh)(2) to mitigate an extended station blackout. The industry, in turn, will share its perspectives on the recommendations.
