T2 Discussion of Seismic Hazard Evaluation and the Regulatory Response to Recent Seismic Events

This session will focus on recent seismic events, including the response to the earthquakes in Tohoku, Japan (Fukushima), and Mineral, VA (North Anna), and ongoing research and licensing reviews related to seismic hazard evaluation.  The session will also cover NRC and industry activities in response to NRC Near-Term Task Force Recommendations 2.1 and 2.3, which address seismic walkdowns and seismic reevaluations at U.S. nuclear facilities.  The panel will include NRC and industry representatives who will present their perspectives on the path forward for assessing the status of seismic evaluations for U.S. facilities.
