TH40 NRC Compliance with the Backfit Rule when Issuing Interpretive Guidance

This session will examine how the NRC addresses the backfit rule when issuing interpretive guidance such as regulatory guides. The staff has recently revised the backfitting language accompanying the issuance of interpretive guidance and will discuss these changes. Participants will be able to discuss this and other topics related to the staff’s compliance with the backfit rule.
