This workshop was held as part of the NRC staff’s initiatives to
continually improve the licensing process for decommissioning sites and terminating
NRC licenses in accordance with 10 CFR Part 20, Subpart E. Participants were encouraged to interact with the NRC staff and with other stakeholders at the
workshop to assist the staff develop of guidance and improve the license termination process. These were Category 3 Meetings -
public participation was actively sought to fully engage the public and stakeholders.
The purpose of this workshop was to
- Inform stakeholders of NRC’s Integrated Decommissioning Improvement
Plan (IDIP), including regulatory and program management improvements.
- Discuss the NRC staff development of guidance for issues resulting from
the License Termination Rule analysis.
- Solicit feedback and suggestions from stakeholders on guidance, decommissioning
lessons learned, and other planned improvements.
