Nuclear Fuel Cycle Oversight Process

The Fuel Cycle Oversight Process (FCOP) administered by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will attempt to make the oversight of fuel cycle facilities more objective, transparent, predictable, efficient, and risk-informed. The NRC staff plans to engage a diverse set of external stakeholders throughout the process and consider both formal and informal comments to the extent practical. For more information, see the following topics on this page:

Public Involvement and Stakeholder Interaction Public Meetings

The NRC has a long-standing practice of conducting its regulatory responsibilities in an open manner, and keeping the public informed of the agency's regulatory, licensing, and oversight activities. For that reason, the NRC is committed to informing the public about its regulatory activities regarding the RFCOP. For general information about the available opportunities for public involvement in NRC activities, see Public Meetings and Involvement, Hearing Opportunities and License Applications, and NUREG/BR-0215, "Public Involvement in the Regulatory Process." For more specific information about public meetings that the NRC staff has conducted to discuss topics related to the RFCOP, see the following chronological listings on this page:
